I see a lot of heat lamps in bathrooms, above the shower.

Isn't this against code, since the bulb is exposed?

I think that depends on the rating of the heat lamp (wet, damp, etc)

I know that I wouldn't want to install one over a shower unless the instructions clearly allowed it.
