When you have a heat pump with back-up electric for a commercial building what sections of the code are used to caculate the load for the service? Are both compressor and axu heat used at 100% for service load caculations?

Generally if both the heat pump and the electric strips can be energized together then they must be calculated as such. I there is a controller that only allows the heat strips to work when the heat pump can't satisfy the situation then you would use the larger of the two loads.

Motors should be calculated based on 220.50 which directs you to 430 and 440
