Heat tape controls

Does anyone have any reccomendations for automatic controls for heat tape? I am looking at a job at multi unit loft and they have some roof area that is experiencing ice damming. Since this is a loft with no maintenance personnel on site the controls can't be manual (eg toggle switch) and still be relied on to be turned on and off when appropriate. I imagine it would have to be some type of tstat with a hygrometer (humidostat). Thoughts?

Take a look at tycothermal.com....model GIT-4 controller, it has GFI protection.
The last company I worked for, we just use a TStat, it seemed to work fine, and only laid the cable in the gutters and down spout. Set the temp at 40 degrees I think.

I had some ice damming and had leaks in the house because of it.
