Heat trace to heat trace plug?

I am wanting to use some type of plug to connect two ends of a heat trace cable together. The field I am in requires the setup and tear down of entire compressor sites to be done in a rather timely fashon. We are currently using a woodhead plug on our sites that are not class 1 div 2 and they work great. They are however not suitable for class 1 locations.

The only problem I'm running into is we are a class 1 div 2 area. Everything I am comming across is a plug and fixed mount recep. (appleton/crouse hinds twist locks) Not cord to cord. I know 501.11 says you cannot have a cord to cord attachment, that it has to be a continous cord. Only problem there is the heat trace manufacturers have splice boxes. So eveidently the code doesn't apply to the heat trace in this way.

Any advice would be greatly accepted.
