I was asked to include "heat trace" cable undernneath a brick walkway for winter months (icing). I did some research and they appear to come in two types : 10W/sq.ft and 20W/sq.ft cable. Does anybody know wher to loook for additional info.
If you're asking which wattage to use, I'd recommend the higher of the two for outdoors. I literally just got finished laying a floor-heat system for a kitchen remodel tonight. It's rated for 15 watts/sq.ft.
The manufacturer should have an engineering planning guide that will tell you how much power you need and the spacing of the conductors. I'll bet you find one if you search the site I posted a little.
