Where I work I would like to replace 3 breakers for heating grids they are old mechanical Ge stuff maybe 40 years old. I would like to replace with molded case breaker. Here is what I know.

Power to xformer 480 V delta
output 2 wire 240 volt
Existing cable 1000kcmil 2 wires in one conduit
Heating grid draws roughly 600 amps measured with by current coil
Existing breaker 600 amp with adjustment wheel at about 130%

My thoughts treat as continous load 600 x 125% = 750amps =800 amp breaker
Do i need some sort of thermal overload incorporated in the breaker?
