Heigth requirement for low voltage

At one of our satellite facilities a tractor trailor backed into a telephone pole that held a secruity camera. We ended up replacing all cable and cameras, now the insurance company said they wont pay, due to the low voltage cable over the driveway is to low. This is 24 volts and the heigth of the cable over the driveway is 13 foot(this put in some time ago,and not sure what the heigth is now). Is their an nec code for this? We are under the 08 code. any help is appreciated

The clearances in 225.18 don't apply to class 2 and 3 circuits or to communications circuits in Chapter 8.

Take a look at 725.141 for the requirements for class 2 and 3 circuits extending beyond one building and 800.44 for overhead comunications circuits.

In 05 this may have fallen under 225.18 and the cable would have to be 18 ft. if I am correct. This section is for outside branch circuits and feeders. The 24 volts may fall under here, I am not sure. I would probably use these heights if I was installing it.

I looked up those sections and i still cant find exact clearances for over a driveway am i missing something?

There are no NEC required clearances over driveways for class 2 or 3 circuits or for communications circuits. Again, 225.18 does not apply to these circuits unless specifically referenced by the applicable articles.
