I have been informed that on a weekend in April there is going to be an I.A.E.I 2008 NEC code seminar with many CMP members, UL representatives and the director of the MA electrical board present.

If anyone wants more info on attending send me a PM, I will hook you up with the info. :)

It's a troubling day when your boss wants to import guys from Jersey to have a chat with you. :D

BTW, there is a IAEI CEU-class coming up in Greeley CO too, on hazardous locations. Turns out, the founder of the company I work for, who's long since gone on to be an inspector for a nearby town, appears to be the M.C. :)

At $100 I will pass on the class for now. Still waiting for the missus to start making millions so I can mooch. :D

Thanks for the mention!

If I may
The cape and Islands Chapter (IAEI) has sponsored a pre NEC cde forum for the last 4 code cycles attracting nationally recognized authorities form all walks of codeoligy. This has been a succesfull and infomative event consisting of two days on sunny Cape Cod, when it is still quite and navigable!!! The NFPA, and State Code authorties will be repersented as well as the IAEI, and NEMA. There have been many questions recently on this forum regarding proposals and comments for the 08 code, and many of the CMP members will be represented and prepared to answer individual questions.

Hello Charlie:

My schedule changed, so I attended this Super Code seminar and found it very worthwhile. The discussions, and review of the 2008 NEC were well done, and the questions from the floor that were answered by the Code panel helped set the record straight. We discovered that some of the "new" 2008 NEC rules will create some problems, and that they will have to be dealt with, or proposed for revision in the 'NEXT" 2011 CODE.

I am glad that we have an opportunity to submit proposals in Massachusetts, asking the board to correct some of the problems that will result, especially the rule related to supporting a nipple!

I understood that Fred will be at the NFPA annual meeting to address the issues, and that the issues will be posted on the NFPA website for review by the public.

Again, I thought both you and Jim Rogers did a great job as Moderators!
