i am trying to find out if you need a ul sticker on a bank of capasiters on single motor application please help ul was no help nothing in the electric code on this

Hate to give you this answer, but you don't need a UL sticker on anything.

NEC 90.7 gives an indication that some items are required to be evaluated - keep in mind UL is not the only product evaluation firm.
OSHA may require listing, my state is not under OSHA.
Your AHJ and its rules may have rules on what is required to be listed.

As of right now, there are NO "ordinary location" motors that are UL listed.

Do they not have people with the knowledge or experience to judge and approve something without some other party doing it for them?
