I have 9 recreational vehicle park sites rated at 50A,120/240V.

What is the VA?

I thought it was figured Amps X Volts, but the answer key shows the answer to be 9,600.

Am I missing something?

That doesn't sound right to me. Nine sites at 50A would be
9 x 9600VA = 86400 Then take 55%
86400 x .55 = 47,520 VA
