Anybody know what this is?? PAT 1905. Small end screws are identified as L each. (Line?) Large end as I each(?) and center one is G. Me thinks there was no Ground in 1905. The center brass thing has 4 small holes in it and is threaded on the bottom. It seems to have a mica insulater under it. The tubes look to be resistors. Haven't checked anything with a meter yet. The boys have been usint it for a cup holder.

I love the old stuff

I love the old stuff

I'm guessing some sort of phone or doorbell/buzzer. I have a similar one but much more small and compact that's in my house. Where did you get it?

It may have G as ground if it is a lightning arrestor or something of the like.

L is Line, T is Load (telephone instrument side) G is ground. Inside the can will be 3 conductors, 2 for each T and a center one for G. They are separated by carbon blocks and insulators. These arc over when an overvoltage occurs. The two fiber tubes contain fuses that open on (Ta Da!) -- excessive current.
