What is in red ? what is that ?

#17
You should have AB or ABC slection, an element is about to burn up A, riding on the neutral lets hope not and or the ground, why is that touching ?
Thats what's it there for, right!

SCCR, (D). No tips, just something you pick up. Look at equipment from now on for "SCCR" or "AIC" ratings. Most resi stuff is 10,000A AIC.

MIN. SIZE THW COPPER FOR A CONTINUOUS DUTY MOTOR WITH 70 AMPS. PER PHASE. 4AWG 3AWG 2AWG 1AWG
2/ 3 awg
Correct, 430.22.

GIVEN; THE VOLTAGE DROP ALLOWED IN THE CONDUCTOR IS 3 VOLTS AND THE LINE CURRENT IS 9 AMPS. DETERMINE THE APPROXIMATE MAX CIRCUIT LENGTH IN FEET FOR A 12 AWG SINGLE PHASE COPPER CONDUCTOR
0-150 151-250 251-350 351-450
3/ 0-150
Correct.

GIVEN 3 PHASE 120 VOLT PHASE A 7200VA- PHASE B 8400VA PHASE C 9600VA WHAT IS THE MAX NEUTRAL CURRENT IN AMPS THAT A NEUTRAL WOULD BE REQUIRED TO CARRY FOR A 3 PHASE WYE SYS.
A) 17.32 B)25.46 C)60.00 D)80.00
4/ 80 amps
Running out of time, haven't checked this one.

PRIMARY PLUS SECONDARY TAP IS 22 FEET MAIN FEEDER IS 111AMPS AND THE FEEDER OVERCURRENT PROTECTION IS 125 AMPS. WHEN A TRANSFORMER FEEDER TAP IS MADE THE MIN AMPACITY PREMITTED FOR THE TAP CONDUCTOES IS _______ AMPERES
A) 20 B)37 C)42 D)125
5/42 amps
Running out of time, haven't checked this one.

HERMATIC REFRIGERANT MOTOR COMPRESSOR FULL LOAD CURRENT OF 20 AMPS. WHAT IS MAX. RATE BRANCH CIRCUIT PROTECTIVE DEVICE?
A) 25 B) 30 C) 35 D) 45
6/25 amps
I agree, based on 115% in 430.32(A)(1).

AN INVERSE TIME CIRCUIT BREAKER TO PROTECT A HERMETIC MOTOR COMPRESSOR FROM OVERLOAD SHALL BE RATED NOT MORE THAT WHAT PERCENT OF RATED LOAD CURRENT
A)115 B)125 C) 140 D)175
7/125%
I agree, based on 440.52(A)(3).

MAX. INVERSE TIME CIRCUIT BREAKER TO PROTECT A 3 PHASE SQUIRREL CAGE DESIGN B MOTOR WITH A 20 AMP FULL LOAD CURRENT IS____ AMP
A)20 B)25 C)30 D)50
8/50 amps
I agree, Table 430.52 (250%)

THE FRAME OF AN ELE. CLOTHES DRYER IS PREMITTED TO BE GROUNDED FOR NEW INSTALLATION BY A) SHEET METAL SCREWS
B)STRAPED TO ANOTHER APPLAINCE
C) STANDARD COPPER GROUNDING CONDUCTOR
D) USING A BONDING JUMPER TO CONNECT GROUNDED CONDUCTOR TO FRAME
9/ c
Bad question, none of the above. In a test, I would answer "C" as well, but I see no requirement for the conductor to be copper.

DEVICE BOX 2 CLAMPS 1 HICKEY 3 GROUNDING CONDUCTORS 1 SINGLE DEVICE. NUMBER OF CONDUCTORS THAT MUST BE DEDUCTED TO DETERMINE THE PREMITTED CURRENT CARRYING CODUCTORS IS
A) 3 B)5 C) 8 D)9
10/ 5
Agreed, 314.16.

ALL PHASE CONDUCTORS ARE REQURIED TO BE IN THE SAME RACEWAY TO REDUCE_____ A) COST B) RESISTANCE C) VOLTAGE DROP D) INDUCTIVE HEAT
11/induction heat
Agreed, 300.3(B).

MAX # OF #14THHN IN A 3/8 FLEX CONDUIT WITH INSIDE CONNECTOR
A) 1 B) 2 C) 3 D) 4
12/3
Four - Table 348.22. (Including EGC per the asterisk)

5 CONDUCTORS IN A METAL CONDUIT WITH A TOTAL CROSS SECTION OF 3.5 SQ. INCHES. WHAT SIZE SCH. 40 WOULD YOU USE. I HAVE NO ANSWERS!
13/31/2 chapter9 table 1 i think
Running out of time, haven't checked this one.

WHY IS ELECTRICAL CONTINUITY REQ. FOR METAL CONDUIT?
14/grounding purpose
I would say "bonding", but I agree.

THE BRANCH CIRCUIT AMPACITY FOR A MOTOR HAVING 24 AMPS FULL LOAD CURRENT SHALL BE NOT LESS THAN 15 25 29 30 AMPS
15/30 430.22
Running out of time, haven't checked this one.

HOW MANY SINGLE POLE 15 AMP LIGHTING CIRCUITS REQ. FOR A 3000 SQ FOOT HOUSE 120/240 SERVICE 3 4 5 6
16/ 5
Agreed, Table 220.12.

WHAT WOULD CAUSE EXECESSIVE OBJECTIONABLE CURRENT FLOW IN THE EQUIPMENT GROUNDING CONDUCTOR WHEN CHECKING AN APPLAINCE CIRCUIT. A) HIGH LOAD RESISTANCE B) EXCESSIVE NEUTRAL CONDUCTOR RESIST. C) EXC. GROUNDING CONDUCTOR RESIST. D) MULTIPLE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN NEUTRAL AND GROUND CONDUCTORS
17/ HELP ???
Objectionable current on the EGC is caused by a neutral coming into contact with the EGC after the service (or SDS) disconnect. Since current travels on all paths back to it's source, it will split on the way back between the intended neutral path and the unintended one (the EGC).

What is in red ? what is that ?

They make flex connectors that can thread into the conduit instead of clamping on the outside of the conduit. This would be an inside or screw-in connector.

Via PM, Stu said that #17 is still a little confusing. Think of a ground touching a neutral at a receptacle. It will trip a GFCI-protected (and AFCI-protected) circuit, because neutral current is also flowing on the ground instead of solely on the neutral as it should be. 250.6.
