help on hutch lighting

situation
lady calls and says she needs lights installed in a custom made hutch ($10,000) mirror back, glass doors, so i show up at her house, the hutch is not there its at the cabinet shop but she has a computer generated picture of the hutch which shows it 6" lower than the ceiling. so i go to the cabinet shop install my 6 puck lights flush mount ( 120 volt owner supplied)ran the cords on top of the hutch to the end unit.install a switched receptacle in the end unit( solid doors)
go back after the hutch is installed, hutch goes from floor to ceiling, now my insulation is not up to code ( cords are now concealed in a 4" soffit) and the puck light instruction say's not to install in closed areas like this because of the heat they generate. owner go ballistic say's she told me it went to the ceiling ( i don't remember her saying that) but now what are my options is there a way to make this installation legal ( open the ceiling under the hutch, some other puck lights that can be hard wired or cords listed to be used concealed) any help would be appreciated

You are caught in a trap.The computer showed a typical install and not hers.She supplied the lights so i think it falls onto her.Not having any drawings for her install suggests to me that you needed to tell her to wait till its at her house.I been thru things like this before.All part of custom installs.Depending on if you been paid yet or not i would give her some string (to go fly a kite)

PIERRE,That was why I asked if there was a void
across the top of the cabinet.Pop out the puck lights and nm from light to light for as many as the trans can hold.I had to do that and used the smalest box I could find and blanked it off pop out the light accesible.Hope that might help ;)

Allen, you have to read the question before you answer.
The lights are not low voltage and the problem is not the wiring.

thanks for the help, there is a 4" void on top. is there hard wired 110 volt puck light on the market. or small can lights that are only 4" tall. next time all measure the heights of the room and the hutch. live and learn.
