Help selecting Mike Holt material

Hello, Mike Holts material has been recommended to me by several electricial inspectors as study material to learn more about the NEC. I am not currently seeking to pass a state exam, but would like any advice on his best books for learning more about the code so that I can apply these to my day to day work. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you Karl, I just ordered the first volume, and will order the other with workbooks next month. I am actually looking forward to reading and using this forum to learn more about the NEC.

I just got the JW simulated exam, Electrical NEC exam prep, and NEC exam practice questions. 25% off on that deal that MHE was offering. Tossed in a new 2005 just because I wannted one for the test.

even the exam prep books offer alot of explaining on topics. I would also reccomend the understanding the code volumes

Just got Volume 1 Understanding NEC 2005

Just got Volume 1 Understanding NEC 2005

I recently recieved my first MH book, and have started reading it. I will have to get the workbook and go through the problems to have the concepts really sink in. I have to say that even though I am not far ito the text, that the explanitory material is very clear, and the illustrations are excellent. I hope this site is acceptable for getting feedback for questions I will have. Thanks again to all for recommending this book.

I have the 2005 version and the first 15-20 questions were all based on the wording of section 250.4 (A)(1-5). My head was spinning. But the information is there to help you really get know it. It definitely makes you think.
