Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble determining how to size the breaker for a 34.5kW heated trash compactor (3ph 480V).

Is it as simple as (34.5kW / 1.732) *1.25 ? This gets me 52A

Thank you

Unless there is a motor involved, that should be fine.
(Note: Don't know about your jurisdiction but with only the "C-E" marking the equipment would not pass inspection under some area rules)

Would the 125% even apply as it's probably not considered a continuous load?
If not, then a 45 or 50A breaker would work.
Since nol control panel was mentioned it might be presumptuous but I figured the 125% might apply due to Art 409.

That label would not cut it for US listed equipment. Leaves a lot of guessing to be made. As mentioned, that equipment would not be allowed in many jurisdictions due to the listing issue.

In the US, CE means nothing. My state does not accept CE, as its not an NRTL recognized testing lab....but we do have a allowance for 3rd party engineer to approve. For the OP, conract ETL or UL to get a field evalution...$$$

It is also hard to know if the 34.5 amps is the total power or is that the motor and the heater is added to it-- ~=44 amps
