Help w/ understanding Euro/BS openings & support frames.

I could use some help from any members in Europe and/or GB.

I'm looking at some "euro/BS" wall plates, and the opening size is listed as 50x24 mm for 1-module, and 50x50 mm for 2-modules, etc.

The particular switch modules I'm looking at are 45x45mm. Do the support frames center the devices within the opening? Does any Euro/BS support frame work with any Euro/BS wall plate?
 
I think I’ve got it figured out. When looking through the Legrand international catalog there are a variety of box sizes within the same product line, and it took me awhile to figure out that one image might represent a variety of different support frame sizes.

So it seems the key is to match the “fixing centers” between the support frame and wall plate, and make sure the support frame dimensions are not greater than the wall plate dimensions also.
