I'm pretty sure the decision was that it was OK. We're all here to help each other out, and a help wanted ad fits that philosophy.
If the practice gets out of hand, I'm sure the moderators will do what they have to do.

I posted one such invitation, and it had favorable results in two ways. One is that I connected with a local contractor. The other is that the thread generated some interesting discussion, with generating any controversy. So let's see where this thread leads us.
jbwhite: It might help the Forum leadership if you could post some feedback within a reasonable time. No names are needed or wanted, and you don't even need to tell us how many responses you get (i.e., in PMs). But if you don't mind, would you let us know whether this thread was successful in getting you in contact with some available help in your geographic area?
Not really. Mike had expressed an interest in allowing this type of "invitation." But no decisions have been made.
