Help with 100KW 600v 3 Phase Generator

Hello everyone, im very new to electricity im not a electrician but mainly hydraulics, recently,im working on a underwater vehicle project that is equipped with 100hp electric motor. i recently purchased a 100kw 600v 3 phase generator, My question is, i have a 100hp 600v 3phase electric motor how do you connect this to? what are the requirements /procedures? do i need a soft starter for this?. im also trying to figure out how to add a step down so i can have 220v or to power house, lights etc... from the same generator. quite frankly, this is my first generator and i never hooked up a electric motor to a generator before. sounds like a budding yogi question but any inputs i will be gladly to learn alot.
