Help with books

Can anyone tell me which Mike Holt books would be the best one to help pass a liscense test. I've been looking at some of the books and they all look great but before i spend too much money i figured someone who has bought his books might be able to point me in the right direction.

MIke Holts Electrical Exam Preparation book, Understanding the National
Electrical Code Vol. 1 and 2. Great books IMO.

IMO, you could put on a blind fold....spin around in a circle.....then throw a rock at the target and hit a gold mine (as far as mike's books are concerned)

But to answer your question, if you want to start cheap and get the most bang for your buck.....I would recommend The Understanding The NEC volume 1, and accompanying work book (2005 or 2008 depending on test curriculum.

Money spent on books is NEVER A WASTE. I need to spend more money on book shelves.

I used the Mike Holt Exam Prep books vol 1 and vol 2. It help me alot.
