I have been asked by a property manager to price my services using cost plus. This market will bear $65/hr for an experienced electrician and $25/hr for a helper. They will only pay cost plus 10%. Can someone give me an example calculation for adding a duplex recepticle using MC cable in an interior office wall? Assume materials cost $50 and 2 hours to do the job What is the price I charge? I also charge a $15 trip charge.
Thanks for the help.

Is this property manager a business partner of yours ? if he wants you to price your service using cost plus, ask him if he will assume the cost of any losses your business has, I often wonder, where these idiots, that manage property get their ideas of business operations from.

Cost plus can mean a lot of things. Things like material handling, fuel, project mangement, having a stocked vehicle, office staff, insurance, benenfits..... all part of the all mighty (overhead). GOOD customers realize this and will pay. So
Material $50.00 + Overhead x 10%
Labor $65 (electrician) + $25 (helper)
Trip Charge $15
