I have a question, i have a garage with two floresecent lights that plug in im trying to add a receptical near them running off a switch. that switch was exsiting an ran up to a old light. All i did was mount a 4 square box near by an ran all the wires that ran into the old light into the 4 square box. there was 3 wires one for power, a switch wire and a wire running down to feed 3 recepticales. now that i have all this hooked up i turn the circuit breaker on and the lights come on but once i try turning off the lights the circuit breaker shuts off and wont reset with the switch off. Any surgestions on the problem, this is the first time i have ran into this any help is appreciated

you are directly shorting out the circuit when you turn on the switch. If you aren't an electrician then you should call one. You made the connections wrong in the J-box

Alright i already figured that out i have currently all hot wires tied together the feed coming in and the line feeding the receptcales i also pig tailed a wire to the receptacale im trying to feed the florecents, and i also have all the neutrals tired together with one pig tailed to the receptical that im trying to put in for the florecents. So basicly on the receptacle that im putting in i have a hot feed and the switch wire on the brass termanial and the commone on the other turminals. And there isnt a ground with this old wiring

If your switch has only 2 wires: one black and one white, then you need to tie the white from the switch to the hot wire in the j-box. Then the black from the switch gets tied to just the receptacle hots in the j-box. And then the other 2 whites tie together for your neutrals in the j-box. So basically you don't have a neutral at your switch. your not sending a neutral down to your switch and you don't need to if your switch only has one black and one white wire in the box which is what it sounds like.
