i was wondering if anyone is from the nyc area who know how to go about learning how to read eletrical plans , also if anyone has msn or aim from nyc area pm me . Thanks :p

I do but, what does the area you live in have do do with the ability to read an electrical drawing?

nothing lawn i was just asking to see how many people would reply , thanks for the reply .I was just wondering if anyone could give me advice on how can i go about learning to read electrical plans , as in books or online tutorials. Also to see if anyone on the furom was in the nyc area. thanks

If you have the opportunity, try to look at the prints on the jobsite. Ask your foreman for help. It is especially helpful to try to see as many pages, as the HVAC/plumbing will be helpful so you can see how they are actually installed, and how they relate to each other on the prints - always a problem when the two are in each others way. Learn the difference between the elevation, plan view, etc... don't forget that the spec page(s) is vital as well.
Purchase a good print reading book and pay attention to the details. Goodluck and be patient, as it takes time and effort to be good at reading prints - seeing the mistakes ;)
