Do h.i.d fixtures hung from a rigid conduit and hook have to have an attachment plug and receptacle or can the cord go straight into a 4 square box with a cord connector without the attachment plug? I don't fully understand 410.30 c1 (2)c.

They must have a plug and receptacle if rubber cord is used.

The only time I know you can hardwire a fixture with rubber cord is when it requires adjusting or aiming after installation.
