Are there any special type of high bay for a freezer concerning a frost proof lense or would a fixture used in a typical warehous application work.

How high ceiling are we talking? are we talking about HID, or liner fluorescent?

If HID, I would think the heat from the lamp would keep the lens clear, which is why they would not be my first choice, but fluorescents have come along way as far as starting in the cold, t-5 54 watt If I remember right will start down to -20?F but much less heat.

They have cold start ballasts. You need to check the specs, especially with an indoor rated fixtures.
Any outdoor rated ballast is obviously rated for a much wider temperature range.
