What is the best way to install HID fixtures that extends 24" from the building structure? The 400watt High Bay will be hung from a fixture hook with a 24" 3/4 IMC Conduit with 2 locknuts at the fixture end.

MC Cable is rated 90d C, correct? Is it legal to run the MC down the down rod to the fixture without a connector? Or should the MC be tie wrapped to the outside of the down rod to the fixture? Are there supposed to be a disconnecting means for the fixture to be serviced?

Thanks for your help

This is the only part of your question I can answer.

Temperature rating is a function of the insulation, not the cable type. Some insulation is rated for 90 degrees C, but even then before you can use the 90 C rated ampacity, the termination at both ends of the cable (in this case the circuit breaker and the light fixture) have to be rated for 90 C, and that is probably not the case.
