I ran across a situation where a compressor was moved, and they wanted me to rerun the wires and rehook up the unit, What i found was that i had 219 volts on one phase coming in and 120 on the other, The unit calls for 230 volts single phase and is 7.5 h.p. Is there a problem with this high leg feeding this air compressor? Thank you so very much I have learned a great deal from this forum.

Re: high leg

This is normal for 3 phase 240. the 240 motor doesn't care that one of the phases is higher to ground. The only important thing is that you get 240 between phases. If there were 110 volt controls tapped off the motor feed that could cause a problem , but with this install you don't have that.
