High Temp wire

I need to re-wire my own portable pizza oven. What type of wire should i use? I found the type of heater cord in article 400.4 for the flexible cord and plug. Do you also know the type of connectors to use? The oven thermostat has a setting to go to 500 degrees F. Thanks.

I have seen similar applications where "Thermoset" wire was used. It has very good high temperature performance and durability. There are probably other types that may be better suited.

most ovens use PFA type wire.


as for connectors, any crimp-on should be fine i would think. you may want to remove the plastic sleeve after you crimp it.

Are you putting the cord inside the oven?

Just because the oven has a maximum temperature of 500?F doesn't mean the cord will reach that temp.
