Hoist SINPAC Switch

Hi Guys, we have 115V single phase hoist, 2 HP. We are preparing to upgrade the controls and are as-builting the wiring. The SINPAC switch appears to only be powered by the contactors when the hoist is powered for UP. For hoist down, it is switched out of the circuit. I have zero experience with these, it seems logical that this would be the case but just thought I would double check with the Forum. Thanks for the help!

It's just a solid state starting switch. It seems possible that it wouldn't be needed since gravity would start the motor in the right direction when lowering the load on the hoist.
