Is the hole spacing on LB fittings (specifically a 1/2" SLB) the same between manufacturers? Is a cover from one brand going to fit another (listing issues aside of course)

Nope, they're alot of different kinds. Some have a clamp, no threads. Some have threaded holes, but the distance between these holes is not standard. You might get lucky, but there's no standard.

I don't think that there is any standard that manufactures are required to use for cover size so my guess is no. I have had LB covers from one manufacture come very close but the screws usually are a different size and don't match up.

thanks. its a long story, but a product ended up getting prototyped with a 1/2in SLB purchased from homedepot, hubbell-raco would be used in production. And the hole spacing for the cover matters.

Unfortunately, the governing specifications, UL 514A and UL 514D do not specify cover mounting screw distance dimensions. This leaves it completely open to the manufacturers to place screw bosses wherever they want.

One thing you should be aware of, is even though you have standardized on one manufacturer's model, what works today may not work in the future. This is because many manufacturers purchase these kinds of items from various factories in China, India, or Mexico. The cast and machining patterns at these factories may not all be identical. This will result in variations that will cause potential fit problems with a custom designed product that uses those bosses as an attachment point.
