It really depends on the opinion of the structural engineer on the project. Not what the spec says... The Engineer may have the Glu-lam fully loaded, and spec that no holes be drilled. Drilling one without an RFI could cost you a pretty penny.Thanks for the info. I have a situation in this new rough where the homeowner wants cans placed in a lower foyer that is surrounded by lams. I always thought that you could not drill them but now I know differently. Thanks again.
