How do we fight these home warranty companies using unqualified & unlicensed contractors to do their work?

you don't, you get paid when things the unqualified guys do isin't right and you are called to fix it.

This usually does not work since most home owners are ignorant, they assume the warranty company is sending out a real professional. I was just on a call where the warranty co. contractor ran a 12/3 romex cable from basement up to 2nd floor exposed tied to hot water heat pipe. Cable direct short against pipe. Homeowner went back to warranty co. again to have them send out another "qualified contractor" to correct.
