how much is the average price for a home run in an older house?

First, welcome to the site. I see you are an apprentice and I hope you find the expertise and advice here helpful in a long successful career. So, the nice part out of the way, why do you ask that question? I am a little concerned it may be so you can price a side job. I hope not, but you never know. If so, don't forget add the cost for the fines for unlicensed work and personal liability if something goes wrong. Please don't be offended, but a lot of guys here won't give out pricing information, because that is kind of what we make the big bucks for.:D

That said, as the other poster indicated, with labor rates exceeding $25 per hour in California and pushing a whopping $16 in Central Florida, you can see the potential for differing rates. Also, a home run from a panel on the first floor to a receptacle on the second across the house is a lot different than one from the basement to an interior wall on the first floor. So there is no average.

that all depends on how much you have to do to get it where its got to be. whats your hourly rate, whats the material cost, what's it worth to you to climb into that attic, thru the insulation and pull the wire. then you've got to get it down the wall (fishing, two people) and into a box (whew) before you install a device, cover plate and breaker. then your markup. i look for about 50 to 65 bucks an opening for new work (rough) no devices, no fixtures. 100 bucks minimum for old work/per box if it's a whole house or partial rewire. if it's a sinle run, minimum trip charge *(whatever that may be for you) plus your hourly rate, plus materials, plus markup
