Can a hood fan that is Hard Wired be connected to the required 210.11(C)(1) small appliance branch circuit?
Did you go to 210.52(B) that was referenced in 210.11(C)(1)?Can a hood fan that is Hard Wired be connected to the required 210.11(C)(1) small appliance branch circuit?
So you guys are saying a Range Hood is an "outlet" by definition?
The box in the wall w/ conductors from a sabc that the hood would be tied to is an outlet- see art 100 for outlet def.
Thats where the violation is.
The connection in the hood is the outlet. Are you saying the branch circuit conductors extending from the box to the hood are an "outlet"?
Outlet. A point on the wiring system at which current is taken
to supply utilization equipment. (CMP-1)

The termination point of where your wire meets the hood conductors would be the point as I stated earlier.Just trying to understand at what "Point" the Hood becomes an "Outlet"
OK got that Dennis.
If the hood were cord-and-plug connected...is the "outlet point" the receptacle that it plugs into?
If you are supplying a load by definition there is an outlet somewhere. Sometimes exact location of the outlet is debatable. So you guys are saying a Range Hood is an "outlet" by definition?
