i have wired a system just as larryfine stated he was told to have the gas shut-off with the exhaust fan manually as well as by the ansul system when it's triggered.
the owners want to be able to turn the exhaust fan off at night but not loose the pilots because of this.i can wire it this way but, did we find out if this way would be aceptable by the fire marshall? as i have a inspection monday to test the system.

I am not aware of any requirement that standing pilots in cooking equipment be extinguished overnight, so my feeling is "why wouldnt' it be okay with the Fire guy?".

Well theres your first problem.

Just bustin chops Larry:grin:

The pilots only shut down when the Ansul is triggered via gas soleniod.

well i was just going by what i read in a post. larryfine stated he was told that it had to be that away.i would think as long the gas valve shuts off when the ansul system is triggered that it would be sufficiant

thanks, right i think the same way.i was left a sketch from the ansul guy..so i hooked it up acording to his drawing and it happens to work exactly as larryfine stated in a old post i ran across .where as when you cut off the exhaust fan the gas valve closes stoping the gas flow.
