I'm working with a User who has requested that we provide wiremold horizontally mounted on her laboratory bench, so that the receptacles are face up. She has assured us that there will be no liquids on the laboratory bench because it is a cGMP space. I've discussed with other engineers in my office and the overall sentiment is that it isn't a smart installation because debris can fall into the receptacle openings. However, it is permitted by the NEC because this is not a dwelling or residentail installation, nor is it a wet location. FYI, she has another laboratory in the same building that currently has wiremold horizontally installed in it (approximately 5 years old) so she and the Client's project manager believe it's okay because it's already been done. Any opinions?
