Current building is wired in romex and new work boxes (not wet location boxes). Building is post and beam with a wood truss roof. No stalls, storage,Wash down, or feeding areas. Would continueing with current wiring be a violation or would Rigid NM conduit and wet location boxes be necessary. Cost differance would be hard to justify if it isn't mandatory. Thanks for your advice.

Re: Horse Riding Arena W iring

Take a look at Art 547, it looks to me like your arena is in the scope of this article.

547.5 Wiring Methods.
(A) Wiring Systems. Types UF, NMC, copper SE cables, jacketed Type MC cable, rigid nonmetallic conduit, liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit, or other cables or raceways suitable for the location, with approved termination fittings, shall be the wiring methods employed. Article 398 and Article 502 wiring methods shall be permitted for areas described in 547.1(A).

You could use UF cable in place of NMC.
