I work in Arizona as electrical contractor. I wanted to bid on a hospital being built and was asked if I was "hospital certified". I have never heard of this. What is this and what do I have to do to be hospital certified?

I would guess if it means anything at all, your state may certify certain contractors that make an application and meet some experience requirements.

For instance in Mass a contractor can only bid public jobs valued at more that 100K if they are so called prequalified. Here the prequal requirement would not apply to a hospital unless it was owned by the state.
