After flipping back and forth between 517.10,517.13 & 517.30 (C)(3) Confused? Does Essential Systems in Hospitals have to be in conduit in hallways and waiting areas. The 517.10 (B) says no but is that for " clinics, medical and dental offices and outpatient facilities" only. 517.30(C)(3) says refer to 517.10 (A) (B). (A) says part II shall apply to patient Care space. 517.30 is in part III.
Any help appreciated

Yes, the mechanical protection called for in 517.30(C)(3) is for the whole system not just patient care areas.

Part two is dealing with wiring methods in patient care areas whether it is Normal or Essential systems.

I think you meant to say 517.13(A) (B) which is for patient room bonding requirements and would be applicable to 517.30(C) wiring in these spaces.
