Hi All,

Does anybody know where to find some good information on hospital design for electrical systems (i.e. life safety, emergency and critical system feeders etc....) ? Im an electrical engineer and just started working for a company that does a lot of hospitals. Tricky stuff. I read the NEC and NFPA and feel I need more. Any help would be great..........

Besides NFPA 99, 101, and 110 you can check out the "AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities". Another source of information if dealing with existing facilities would be this CDC document.

In Florida we have what's called "Agency for Health Care Administration" (AHCA) and they have many requirements above and beyond what code requires. Each state very well may have one.

Mostly NYC buildings from the ground up and renovations. The senior electrical engineer could answer my questions, but reading never hurts. thank you btw

NYC has a lot of post Sandy lessons learned your senior engineer will share. Don't believe they are codified though.
