Hospital Grade MC Cable

I have recently been told that hospital grade MC cable can only be installed in lengths around 10' in a health care facility when supplying power to a critical care receptacles. I cannot find in the code where this is to be true and believe you can run in any length needed. Has anyone ever heard this or bee told the same by an AHCA inspector?

Might be the listing. 517.30(C)(3) talks about mechanical protection of the emergency circuit which it is. I have always seen EMT and steel greenfield used, MC just for normal power.

As Gerry said, it is 517.30(C)(3) and they are being generous if they allow any length outside the 5 conditions stated.
