Hospital grade Question

Im installing power to an a/c unit in a ceiling of a cat scan room at a hospital.
I understand when you use mc cable it needs to be hospital grade, but is that for only outlets in the wall? Or can I run 10-2 regular mc to a disconnect in the ceiling to supply the a/c? I see in the ceiling lots of regular mc and hospital grade going to the can lights in the room.....:cool:

Yes, you can use regular MC to the A/C.
 
In that this is inside of a Patient Care Area (even if it is above the ceiling) regular MC will not make the grade, the installation must comply with 517.13(A).

You could use AC, HFC, MC Smart, or any raceway that is recognized in 250.118.

Note; see the difference in Patient Care Area verses Patient Care Vicinity for where 517.13(B) comes into play.
