Hospital Grade receptacles.

We are working in a lab are of a county hospital. All the receptacles are spec grade. There are no Hospital grade. The lab area is across the hall from X-Ray and the Emergency Room. Do you think they considered this a non-patient care area is why all the devices are not Hospital grade. Our company does not distinguish, if it's in the hospital we put in hospital grade.

HG receptacles are not required in most patient care areas let alone this space. See article sections 517.18, 517.19, 517. 61(B)(5), and 517.61(C)2 for HG receptacle requirements. (quoting 2011)

It is your prerogative to install them in all areas of a hospital but it is not required.
