hospital grade TR receptacle

according to leviton, the NEC required TR receptacles in pediatric wards of hospitals. does anybody have a picture of those receptacles before they came out with the TR we all install today? or were they the same exact thing as the TR receptacles now?

They looked just like hospital grade receptacles unless you looked inside the slots.When you looked in the slots you saw the shutters that made them TR

i mean were they the same design 20 years ago that they are today?

I have installed a lot of the Hubbell hospital grade TRs and no, they are nothing like the residential ones.

With the Hubbells there are actually switches inside the device that do not energize the slots until both slots are occupied by prongs.

They are also in the $20 to $25 each range.

There are about 40 to 50 of them in each Stop & Shop. They spec them in the aisles.

Well they used to, I don't know if they still do.
