I am installing a hot tub outdoors in a multi family dwelling therefor i need an emergency shutoff switch. mike holtz understanding the nec vol 2 says that the maintenance disconecting means per 680.12 meet the requirements. My question is how is this possible when the maint disconecting means has to be at least 5 ft from the tub and the emergency disconect has to be within 5 ft f the tub? is this a mistake in the mike holtz book or am i missing somethin?
