HOT TUB GFCI

I have a Sundance Bristol hot tub. It has a hardwired 3-wire connection. There is a 'deadswitch' breaker within 5 foot of the hot tub. The Sundance hot tub does not included juntion for NEUTRAL wire. Rather, the Sundance electrical hook up states: "The RCD/GFCI circuit breaker must be installed at the power supply in the house electrical box". Question: is this a suitable method for Hot Tub installation? Is there an advantage of one installation type over the other? Thanks.
