I’m wiring a hot tub that is being recessed into an elevated deck. By being recessed I’m required to create the equipotential bonding ring around the tub. Anyone ever had to do this. Realistically what is the point on a wooden structure?
I wasn’t there on rough in but it appears the inspector was saying to the carpenter that I’ll have to bond all the metal under the tub, joist hangers, galvanized bolts, etc. To which my reply was how. If I drill and tap the hangers that voids their warranty.
Job already got interesting. Customer didn’t want to see the disconnect so I mounted the disconnect and a separate panel below (to house the shunt trip) and put a small e-stop on the deck.
What have you guys done in the past?
Thanks
