The owner of a new multi-family residential project doesn't want his tenants to pay for exterior lighting on the individual units. He's of the opinion that is common area lighting. He's also wanting to know if exterior receptacles can be treated as common area equipment as well.
Can a separately metered house panel serve an exterior lighting/plug circuits for multiple multi-family buildings or do I need a separately metered house panel located at each multi-family building to feed this equipment?
