"House" panel???

Electrician: when you guys said "house" panel, what does this mean? Is it branch circuit panel? Sorry, sometimes I am not really familiar with terms in field.
Can someone please explain more in details. Can someone list some "not standard technical terms" that electrician use at field,

for example:

"gut" = enclosure without breakers, wiring, etc?

house panel => panel for public areas, core areas, general parking, elevators, hallways, etc., ie. loads not associated with dwelling units, tenants, lease holders

guts = panelboards, equipment to be mounted in an enclosure, cabinet, etc.
 
"House" panel normally refers to the panel that serves overall property (landlord) loads as opposed to tenant loads. Site lighting, alarm systems, hallway lights, irrigation systems etc. are some common circuits for "house" panels.
Various Codes require security and safety circuits to be wired in a manner to assure they are not disconnected when a tenants power is off.

Wiggy = simple voltage tester that lights up, vibrates and indicates a rather approximate voltage i.e. 120/240/480 etc.
 
wire cutters = linesman's pliers
wire strippers = linesman's pliers
hammer = linesman's pliers
crimper = linesman's pliers
hole basher = linesman's pliers
bolt cutters = linesman's pliers

Seriously, I got by on those two tools for most of my apprenticeship.
