housekeeping pads

i have been searching the internet to see if here in california is is a code requirement( nec,cec, ubc, etc.) to have housekeeping pads for transformers and switchgear. if you know of the article number please list it thanks

I couldn't tell you specifically for CA, but all other National codes do not require housekeeping pads. It is a design issue. Sometimes they are needed for stuctural reasons to support the concentrated weight of heavy equip.

Are you referring to insulated mats in front of electrical equipment? This may be a State OSHA issue. I don't think it is mentioned in the NEC.
