Right here.
Every single year, for me, has been more prosperous than the one before it. This year will be the best ever. I contribute it to a combination of marketing, doing stuff nobody else wants to do, and good salesmanship. Oh, and not doing too much new work. Unless there's an Amish hostile takeover in the works that would cause people to quit using electricity, I really don't care what the economy does.

Starting to lose bids to low-ballers. Lost a ~10000sq ft house..180 recessed, 4 HVAC zones, deck lighting, kitchen and kitchenette, deck and gazebo lighting, hot tub etc,etc to some guy who did it for $45000.00...I couldn't or wouldn't have touched it for that. Lost a new attached garage with enclosed porch with ceiling fan, numerous lights and receptacles, 4 exterior receptacles....probably 3 days rough and final... to a guy who did it for $2000.00...I was over double that. Octobers been good...Nov looks not so good...had several customers back out of whole house remodel contracts in the past couple weeks because they feel it's prudent to wait....which I can't really blame them. This has still been my best year ever even if I don't work from now til Xmas, but I never-the-less am starting to do things I haven't had to do for years...like advertise....call contractors...drop off cards every where...generally drum up business where ever I can cause next year looks like it could be tough.
